The Office of Diversity and Compliance is committed to providing support with equal opportunity, unlawful harassment including sexual harassment, discrimination and disability.
The American Association for Higher Education and the American Association of University Professors are among over 40 educationally oriented organizations that endorsed On the Importance of Diversity in Higher Education (2002), a report outlining the critical link between diversity and higher education. The statement includes the following:
Title IX prohibits discrimination (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) based on sex in the College’s educational programs and activities. The Sexual Misconduct/Title IX Hotline Number is 844-843-8347.
PCOM supports the SafeZone program, which develops environments that are supportive to LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning) individuals.
PCOM received the 2015 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. This is the first time PCOM has been named a HEED Award winner, and it is the first osteopathic medical school to receive this honor. INSIGHT Into Diversity is the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.
